What can a renter document before asking a landlord to address a cold bedroom?
Looking for a practical evidence checklist that does not require opening walls or buying specialist equipment.
One bedroom stays roughly 4°C colder than the hallway when the door is open. The radiator works and the window has been weather-stripped, but the exterior wall feels noticeably colder.
What measurements would make a useful maintenance request without overstating the cause? I can log room temperature and outdoor temperature, photograph condensation, and borrow an infrared thermometer from the library, but I do not want to interpret the images as a professional energy audit.

Log temperatures at the same time for several days and note wind direction. A single infrared image can be misleading without stable indoor conditions.
That is the kind of boundary I needed. I can document the pattern without claiming to know what is inside the wall.
Also photograph the radiator valve position and keep the maintenance request focused on the temperature difference, not a guessed diagnosis.
